Telehealth Physical Therapy – Virtual Visits
Stay Connected Despite Social Distancing!
As the spread of COVID-19 continues and our local and federal government officials continue to tighten the restrictions on social distancing, we are doing our best to continue to serve our patients and provide quality care. We are currently still open for our normal clinic hours. We’re closely monitoring the situation and will keep all patients and clients updated if that changes as more information is disclosed from local and federal government officials. In order to continue serving ALL of our patients during this time, we are going to start offering Telehealth physical therapy virtual visits to patients who are not able to come in for in-person appointments.
Telehealth visits allow you and your clinician to discuss and manage your condition without having to meet in person. It’s a great way for you to communicate with your Physical Therapist, seek medical advice, discuss your home program, all without leaving your home or office. We will be implementing these virtual Telehealth visits using the PhysiApp mobile app platform that you currently use for your home exercise program. These virtual visits will allow you to check in with your provider, discuss your current symptoms, and update your home exercise program.
Unfortunately, most commercial insurance plans do not yet cover these telehealth physical therapy visits, however that may change any day because medicare just announced on 3/17/2020 that they are allowing physical therapists to bill e-visits specifically due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We will continue to monitor each specific commercial insurance plan’s policies and procedures regarding our ability to bill these visits to insurance. In the meantime, we are offering 15-minute virtual visits through PhysiApp for just a flat fee of $30. Clinician availability for these visits will be during normal business hours and will be displayed on our online booking page. Availability of times is subject to change based on the COVID-19 situation and clinician availability.
How to Start with Telehealth
- Schedule a telehealth physical therapy visit online here or call us at 253-336-2040
- When your appointment time comes, log into PhysiApp
- When your Physical Therapist logs in, you will either get a push notification through the app or an email invite. Click the notification or email link to join the virtual session.
- Turn on your camera and microphone to enable the camera and microphone on your computer/phone to start sending video and audio. You can turn off video and mute audio during the call if you wish
